Opinion

Immature

I've seen exactly what it looks like firsthand to see people take cheap shots and make snide comments about their nominal competitors, and it invariably makes the complainer look worse than the ostensible target. When the company you're taking a shot at is Microsoft, that's saying a lot.
I agree that, although Apple's BSOD thing is funny in the short term, it is kind of lame and immature in the long term.

Whither Asian voices?

As some may remember, at least some who use one of the East Asian languages, Apple had originally promised to ship with text-to-speech support for Chinese and Japanese, which, like a lot of other things, is simply missing in Leopard.

Ars Technica: The Finder

The first time I saw this in build 9A559, I thought it was a bug, and I was almost 100% sure it'd be fixed by GM, but boy was I wrong.

When installing a software update in Leopard which requires a restart, Apple has made Software Update less naggy by adding a "Not Now" button alongside the Restart button.

And to think, at some point of time, we were expecting a "Spring 2007" arrival. Still, if you absolutely cannot wait even another 9 days, there are other ways.

Zune 2.0 UI

I liked the Zune 1.0 UI too and 2.0 just makes it even slicker. My main problem with Zune 1.0 was the desktop software, and, to some extent, the fact that it looked like a brick.
